Bethesda PTO Open Meeting

Meeting called to order at 9:30 by Lindsay Wright

·      Treasurer’s Report

  Money in: Farrow $750 sponsorship

  Good Words $250 sponsorship

Atmos $1000 sponsorship

Membership dues $1376

Expenses: Boo Hoo Breakfast, Back to School Bash, Hospitality, Insurance renewal

Upcoming Expenses:  Nashville ballet (in-school field trip) $500

                                                                  JA Biztown sponsorship $2060

                                                                 (Both items have been approved previously)

·      Spirit Wear

Closed 2nd order – sold 173 more shirts

Ordered extras just in case 785 ordered total (next order arrives in Sept)

New items: 4 fall spiritwear shirts – sample sizes at BYB (2LS tees, 2 hoodies -- 2 boys, 2 girls options*)

*But for some reason nobody mentioned the “old mom” option which can be worn 6 consecutive days and pair well with all black yoga pants.

Plastic footballs (BYB), car vinyl window stickers, more mugs (white), dragons are out of stock (maybe available in November)

·      Membership

  Closing membership to order shirts.  About 70 total so far.  2nd push?? Shirts done this week.

·      Hospitality

Tailgate is theme for September

·      Backyard Barbecue

Oct 4 – got approvals

Yard games, petting zoo, soda toss, BES Corn hole boards (Ms. Cooper can?)

      Tennessee Stills Band will play (add to flier)

Question: What volunteers do we need?

Answer: ALLLLLLL the volunteers.

  (Kimbra said teachers will help)

Coffee/hot chocolate (get donated?)

·      Silent Auction

Any donations: class baskets, class crafts, teacher experience requested (due next week)

PTO Room parent meeting right after this one.

·      Spirit Nights

  Tailgate at Summit (with Allendale) Friday, Sept 6

(Hotdogs, drinks, chips for dinner)

Bethesda tees=free admission for kids

  Sept 24, 26 Wilson Farm

Oct – Culvers

Nov – Spring Hill Sonic

·      Christmas Family Sponsorship/Angel Tree

Ask Tammi for receipts (reimburse)

  We need the list for the angel tree families and items

·      Treats with Santa

  Santa is already booked for us, Sunday December 15th 1:00 (Santa is $150/hr) – Santa from 1:30-2:30?

Ms. Justus – are we going to charge? $5 per kid?

Cookie decorating (as craft and snack)

…. And all the parents rejoiced because now they don’t have to stand in line for grumpy mall Santa and pay the extortion for the photos. Amen.

·      PE/Related Arts Needs

Ms. Justus asked for wish list from related arts. This is our big fundraising goal for the year.

·      Miscellaneous

  Maybe we should share what we do?? Mrs. Cooper, former K teacher says teachers don’t really know everything PTO does. (Julie to create newsletter for Kimbra to send to teachers)

Share with teachers – we reimburse up to $100 per teacher for supplies (just need receipt) This is separate from grant requests.
